Place to Stay at 00:30AM near Singapore Airport

Hi Gab, I will be arriving in Singapore on the 28th July at 00:30AM. Then staying until 31st July.

Can you recommend a safe place to stay or rest on the 28th when we arrive? Somewhere close to the airport that is reachable by 5 minutes' taxi would be a great option.

Since I am coming with Tiger Airways to the Transit Hotel isn't an option for me. Or, can I go to the Transit Hotel via the Budget Terminal?

Thank you!

Hi Yenny

1) No Access to Transit Hotel from Singapore Budget Terminal

Unfortunately, you'll not be able to stay at the Transit Hotel. And any where else in Singapore at this time of the night will still charge you a full night's rate.

(In which case, you'll be paying for the night of 27 July 2010.)

Why don't you take a taxi straight to the hotel you have booked for the rest of your trip? ;-)

2) Decent Budget Hotel Near Singapore Airport

But if you already have prior arrangements for for the other nights - and want a decent, affordable place for a few hours of rest - you could take the taxi to the budget rated Hotel 81 Tristar.

It is located in a respectable part of the Geylang area near Joo Chiat Road, roughly 15 minutes by taxi from the airport.

3) 4-Star Hotels Near Singapore Airport

If you want something more comfortable, you could consider these 4-star hotels near Singapore Airport:

a) Changi Village Hotel

b) Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel

Both a) and b) are about 10-15 minutes by taxi from the airport. Each has a complimentary shuttle service plying the hotel and the airport but I'm not sure if they run the shuttle past midnight.

4) 5-Star Hotel at Singapore Airport

For something slightly pricier but more convenient, you could just check in to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi Airport, which is smack in the centre of the airport and accessible from Terminal 3.

From the Budget Terminal, take the free shuttle to Terminal 2, followed by the Skytrain to Terminal 3.

Have a good rest on the early morning of 28 July.
