How to Get Your Cosmetics and Toiletries onto the Plane
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Jon

Singapore Airport implements the '100ml rule' for hand-carried luggage: all liquids/gels/aerosols must be held in containers of 100ml capacity or less.

Also, these containers must be put in one clear, resealable plastic bag, which should not have a capacity exceeding 1 litre.

So your cosmetics and toiletries - as long as they are 'liquids/gels/aerosols' - have to be packed according to the guidelines above.

To save yourself from all the hassle, you may want to put these stuff in your checked-in luggage. But that's providing you don't need them on the plane or upon touch-down at the airport.

Air Salonpas

I'm carrying 5 bottles of Air Salonpas (pain relief Salonpas in spray can format).

I intend to put them in my hand carry on board the plane. Is this allowed?

Air Salonpas is an aerosol spray, so...
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi there

Air Salonpas is considered an aerosol. Therefore,

1. it has to be contained in a bottle 100ml or smaller, and

2. all the bottles must fit into a transparent, resealable plastic bag not exceeding 1 litre in capacity.

I did a check and found that Air Salonpas generally comes in a 80ml bottle. But you'll have make sure all your bottles fit into a litre plastic bag - I don't know if that's possible.

You should verify with customs during check-in that your sprays can be taken into the cabin.

Please add in items that are not allowed on board a plane ( Singapore Changi Airport )
by: A student in Singapores school

I hope that the people in charge of the service Singapore Changi Airport website, please add in all the things that are not allowed to be brought on board a plane. Students in Singapore schools sometimes had to research on all these facts. If the items are all add in to the website, it would be easier and better to do work.

Can I bring in tobacco product(cigarettes) in my hand carry baggage from Singapore to my destination. Example : Langkawi or other island resorts.

There they might not have the brand of cigarette that I smoke and the cigarettes are not from the Duty Free Shop. If allowed, how many pack can I bring in?

List of Items Prohibited on a Plane
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Shannon

You'll always get unofficial answers here, since this website is not an official representative of Changi International Airport.

I suggest you visit the Changi Airport website - just Google a phrase such as 'Changi Airport Contact Info' - get their contact number, call them and ask them to provide you the complete list. Or at least they will point you closer to the source.

This way, you go directly to the source, and it's a very clever way to do research for your school project.
