Australians Don't Need Visa to Exit and Enter Singapore Budget Terminal
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Ian
As a holder of an Australian passport, you don't need a visa to exit and enter the Singapore Budget Terminal during your 5-hour stopover, or for a short multi-day stopover.

Therefore, you may use the facilities at Singapore Airport's Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

You may take the 24/7 free shuttle bus from just outside the Budget Terminal to the basement of Terminal 2. From there, you may take the SkyTrain (monorail) to either Terminal 1 or 3.

If you are keen to try (relatively cheap) local food, go to the Kopitiam food court at Terminal 3 Basement 2. There are also lots of other eateries and cafes spread over the 3 terminals.

Transit Rest

We are Australian and we will be travelling from Perth 21.35 hrs and arriving Singapore 2.50am and leaving Sinpapore 15.10hrs to KL, I just wonder if we could book Plaza Premium Lounge on level on Terminal 2 - we are travelling Tiger Air.

Plaza Premium Lounge Not Accessible to Budget Terminal Users
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi there

Unfortunately Plaza Premium Lounge is located in the transit area of the main terminals and not accessible to passengers arriving and leaving from the Singapore Budget Terminal.

Your best rest options are the restaurants at Budget Terminal (McDonald's and Hanis Cafe) or the ones at the main terminals.

Help regarding Transit
by: Anonymous

I am arriving at Singapore Sirport at 11:50 pm (T1). I have booked room at Crowne PLaza and my next flight leaves at 9:30 am from T1. Not much time I know. Do I need to pass through immigration?

Hi there

This information probably didn't get posted in time for you. But, arriving at T1, you'll need to clear immigration checks to get to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi Airport.

Student Visa & Airport Tax
by: Nicky

Hi. I am holding a student visa in Australia and i would like to stopover 2 nights 3 days in singapore before I go back to thailand . I would like to know i have to pay for airport tax or not and if i have to how much for that cost?

Thank you very much.

Hi Nicky

Every non-transit passenger, entering and exiting Singapore, has to pay airport tax regardless of the visa she/he holds.

Here's the airport tax for Singapore.
