What Proof of Sufficient Funds at Singapore Airport?

What proof of sufficient funds will be required at the Singapore Airport?

I am an Australian and have never EVER been asked to supply proof of funds. I have been to Singapore many times. My girlfriend is Philippino and will be meeting me in Singapore. Will she have issues? She will be staying with me there.

Any info would be great!

Dan.

Proof of Suffient Funds
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Daniel

The official Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website does say that arriving visitors need to have suffient funds for their stay in Singapore. They did not use the word 'proof', however.

Obviously, they do not generally stop arriving passengers and demand proof of 'sufficient funds'.

But I believe - and this is just my speculation - this clause is there for the following reason:

If someone turns up at the airport with all other documents in place but no money, they can quite reasonably ask how the person is going to spend his/her time in Singapore.

As long as your girlfriend has all the required travel documents and money with her, I don't suppose she'll face any issue.

Please note that I am not an official spokesperson of the ICA and if you want to be completely sure, you should contact the Singapore ICA directly, provide the details and hear what they say.
