Common Meats Eaten by Singaporeans
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Parijat

the following are meats eaten in Singapore:

Commonly Eaten:

1. Chicken
2. Pork
3. Mutton / Lamb
4. Beef
5. Seafood

Less Commonly Eaten:

1. Frogs
2. Turtles
3. Snakes

Obviously, Muslim Singaporeans do not eat pork and Hindus do not eat beef.

There's a saying that we Chinese eat anything with 4 legs, except tables and chairs. And it's quite true. Visit Chinatown - or other similar areas such as Geylang or Queen Street - and you'll find a few medicinal shops selling very interesting items, such as deer's penis!
