Unclaimed and Belatedly Claimed Luggage at Singapore Airport

by Christine
(New Zealand)

I have a customer who arrives at 7am in the morning and her mother arrives at 3pm in the afternoon.

She would like to stay at the airport and do some shopping till her mother arrives.

What will happen to her luggage if she doesn't collect till the afternoon.

Thanks
Christine

Claim Luggage Belatedly at Lost & Found Counter
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Christine

After a reasonable time, airport stewards will transfer all unclaimed luggage to the Lost & Found Counter.

If a traveller plans to shop within the restricted / transit area upon arrival at Singapore Airport for a longer-than-usual duration, she will need to claim her luggage from the Lost & Found Counter after clearing immigration checks. She must of course produce her passport, airticket and the accompanying luggage tab.

If she plans on shopping in the public area, she'll need to clear immigration checks first, claim her checked-in luggage, and then proceed.
