Two and Half Day Singapore Tour with Kids

by Susan

Sir

I would be traveling from India with my husband and kid of 3 years, arriving on May 23rd at 1:00 and departing on May 26th morning for KL.

Given below is my tentative plan for a tour of Singapore. Could pls help me refine it and give me an idea of what can be done while in Sentosa with Universal Studios.

Day 1:
Arrive at Hotel Ibis Bencoolen, at 2:00
Afternoon: Singapore Zoo
Evening: Night Safari

Day2:
Sentosa Island with Universal Studios

Day 3:
Morning: Jurong Bird Park
Afternoon: Duck Tour(if possible) with Singapore Flyer
Evening: Singapore River Cruise and Dinner

Regards
Susan

Hi Susan

Here are my suggestions for a smoother sequence of movements for Singapore tour:

DAY 1: ZOO -> NIGHT SAFARI -> HOTEL

Touchdown at the airport to hotel check-in in 1 hour? It's simply too ambitious. :-)

Rather than checking into your hotel first, I recommend that you:

a) engage Porter Xpress to send your luggage to your hotel,

b) take a taxi from the airport to Singapore Zoo directly, and after seeing the Night Safari,

c) take a taxi to your hotel, where you collect your luggage from hotel concierge.

Use the money meant for the airport-hotel taxi transfer to transfer your luggage instead. This will save you some commuting time. Otherwise, you'll have very little time to see the Zoo.

DAY 2: UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE -> OTHER SENTOSA ATTRACTIONS

a) Start the day at Universal Studios Singapore.

A few of the rides such as Battlestar Galactica may be too rigorous for a 3 year old. But there are still lots of others: Shrek in Far Far Away, the dinosaurs in The Lost World, and others.

b) About 4pm, visit Underwater World Sentosa - where the entrance fee also includes the show at Dolphin Lagoon. Have dinner at one of the eateries at Palawan Beach.

c) Catch the 7.40pm show at Songs of the Sea. Hop over nearby for the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. Your 3-year-old child can tandem ride with an adult on the Luge (think of a go-cart sliding downhill).

Note:
If you take it easy, it might be possible to spend the entire day at Universal Studios Singapore.

DAY 3: JURONG BIRD PARK -> DUCK TOUR + FLYER COMBO -> SINGAPORE RIVER CRUISE

Your tour plan for Day 3 looks good. Just be aware that the Duck Tour also has a water-based component. The Duck vehicle enters the water of Marina Bay and the view has some (but not total) overlap with that seen on the Singapore River Cruise.

Note:
I believe Duck Tours might have a Duck + Flyer combo ticket which gives you some discount. Ask before you buy your tickets.

Have an enjoyable Singapore tour.
