Travel Malaysia and Singapore in 3 Days?
by Riza
(Padang, Indonesia)
| I am a male traveller with my daughter (7 year old). We travel from Padang to KL on 1st July. We have plans to travel to Singapore and go back to Jakarta by 4th July. Is there any one day trip from Malaysia to Singapore? Where should I go for the rest 2 days? Thank you. |
Hi Riza
With effectively 3 days of vacation, I recommend that you spend all the time at either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Not both. The commuting time - regardless of transport used - will eat away your sightseeing time.
3 DAYS IN KUALA LUMPUR
If you plan on staying in Kuala Lumpur, you could treat your daughter to an entire day at Sunway Lagoon - a theme park with lots of rides and water-based activities. A taxi ride from KL city centre to Sunway Lagoon takes roughly 30-45 minutes.
The earlier part of the second day could be spent exploring the kids-friendly Berjaya Times Square. Here's a mega mall with lots of toy shops, a Borders bookshop, a bowling alley, an IMAX cinema and an indoor theme park.
Later on Day 2, take a walk through the Petaling Street Market - a pasar malam you could start visiting from the late afternoon.
Day 3 could be spent at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia. Walk a trail through the forest with your daughter, have a picnic and get wet in the waterfalls. The highlight here, however, is the suspended forest canopy walkway, from which you could also see the city skyline of Kuala Lumpur.
3 DAYS IN SINGAPORE
If you plan on a Singapore tour, here's a suggested itinerary:
Day 1 - Singapore City Highlights, Zoo & Night Safari
Day 2 - Jurong Bird Park & Singapore Science Centre
Day 3 - Sentosa Island
Have a good trip!
