Singapore Tour with Kids: 4 Days 3 Nights

Please help me prepare a Singapore tour itinerary for a family of 5 with 3 children aged 12, 6, and 4. We are arriving in Singapore on 21 July at 9:40 am and leaving on 24 July at 17:40 pm.

We are booked into Hotel 81 Joo Chiat.

We are interested to visit the following:

1. Sentosa (Underwater World, Skyride and Luge, Sky Tower, Palawan Beach, Songs of the Sea)

2. Night Safari

3. Singapore Zoo

4. Jurong Park

5. Singapore Science Center

6. Singapore flyer

7. Little India
(no idea which are interesting places)

8. Chinatown
(no idea which are interesting places)

9. any Ikea stores

10. any local supermarket stores near the hotel

11. hawkers' centres near the hotel

Food and Shopping in the Katong/Joo Chiat Area

First, allow me to answer the easy part of your question - food and supermarkets in the Joo Chiate-Katong area.

Food in Katong

You're staying in one of the greatest food districts in Singapore! The good eateries and restaurants in this area are too many to mention. You find them at Joo Chiat Place, Joo Chiat Road, and the adjoining East Coast Road.

If you are in a hurry you can try the following pack-and-go food:

1. Nam San Mackeral Otah
(267 Joo Chiat Road)

Try their otak otak - fish meat processed with flour and coconut milk, wrapped in banana leaves and grilled.

2. Kim Choo Kueh Chang
(60 Joo Chiat Place)

Their dumplings and Nonya pastries are must-trys.

There's also the Dunman Food Centre at Joo Chiat Road-Dunman Road junction.

Supermarkets

Take a 10/15-minute walk to Marine Parade Road. You'll find 2 supermarkets there:

1. Giant Hypermarket @ Parkway Parade

2. NTUC Fairprice @ Marine Parade Central

Singapore Tour with Kids: 4D3N Itinerary

Singapore Tour with Kids - Day 1

10am - 2pm: Arrival, hotel check-in, lunch.

2pm - 3pm: Journey to Singapore Zoo.

3pm - 6pm:

1. Enjoy the Singapore Zoo.

2. Take swimwear along for the kids to enjoy the Rainforest Worldz water playground at the Zoo.

3. Walk to the Singapore Night Safari next door.

6pm - 7.30pm:

Dinner at one of the Night Safari's restaurants: Bongo Burgers or Ulu Ulu Restaurant. Enjoy the Bornean Tribal Show at the same time.

7.30pm - 10.30pm:

Enjoy the Singapore Night Safari.

Singapore Tour with Kids - Day 2

Morning + Afternoon:

Jurong Bird Park + Singapore Science Centre

Evening:

Taxi to Ikea Tampines (closing time 11pm). If time permits, visit also Giant Hypermarket and Courts Dept Store (both next door).

Singapore Tour with Kids - Day 3

Spend the day on Sentosa Island.

(You could replace the visit to Butterfly Park in the itinerary with the Sky Tower.)

Singapore Tour with Kids - Day 4

Morning:

Browse the shops and temples in Little India. Leave enough time to do some last-minute shopping at Mustafa Centre.

Afternoon:

Leave enough time to collect your luggage from the hotel and get to the airport.

We will not stay at Joo Chiat after all, and move to The Hive Backpackers Hostel in Lavender Street (Serangoon) instead. Would you recommend the same itinerary for us?
