Why this tour itinerary?

Many first-time visitors to Singapore often underestimate the tropical heat. They try to visit the Jurong Bird Park in the morning, the Singapore Zoo in the afternoon, and the Night Safari in the evening. And exhaust themselves thoroughly. Big mistake!

Spend the morning and part of the afternoon at the Zoo. Then leave about 2-2.30pm for one of the great buffets recommended below. It's a good balance.

7.30am-9am	Journey to Singapore Zoo By public transport: MRT train to Ang Mo Kio Station Bus from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange to Singapore Zoo. Allow 60-75 minutes travel time. By taxi: About S$20-25 from a city hotel, including the 35% morning peak hour surcharge. Maximum of 4 adult passengers (or 2 adults and 3 young children) per taxi. Allow 30-40 minutes.
9am-10.30am	Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife Breakfast starts at 9am. Highlights include: Feeding the elephants; watching them taking a bath. Up close with orang utans and pythons. 10.30am - 11+am	'The Rainforest Fights Back' Show Watch how (real) animals of the rainforest gang up with a nature-loving tribe to defeat a greedy developer. Then take a slow stroll to the Elephants at Work and Play show location.

12+pm - 2.30pm	12+ to 1pm: On your own around the Singapore Zoo. 1pm to 2.30pm: Follow 2 interesting feeding trails... 1.05pm - Polar Bear 1.15pm - White Rhinos 1.25pm - African Lions 2.00pm - Treetops Trail 2.10pm - Otters 2.20pm - White Tigers 2.30pm - Pygmy Hippos (These are arranged so that it's easy to move from one to the next.)
2.30pm-5.30pm Afternoon: Alternatives for children and couples	2.30pm-3.15pm: Taxi back to city Note: Leave earlier if you plan on using the bus + MRT option. 3.30pm-5.30pm: High Tea Buffet Try one of these restaurants. Equinox Restaurant (fantastic views over the city) 3.30pm-5pm Marriott Cafe @ Singapore Marriott Hotel 3.30pm-5.30pm Carousel Restaurant @ Hotel Royal on Scotts 3pm-5.30pm All 3 are open for high tea buffet every day.
Evening	Options Rest in hotel. Then when you are refreshed, do some late night shopping at the 24/7 Mustafa Shopping Centre in Little India. Catch a paid or free show at the Esplanade Theatres, which are near the Equinox Restaurant. Take a walk in the Marina Bay / Singapore River area: Esplanade Theatre, Esplanade Bridge, Merlion Park, Singapore River, Clarke Quay. Lovely night views. Shop on Orchard Road, if you have had high tea at either Carousel or Marriott Cafe. Retire to hotel because it has been an eventful day.

- Take a 20-minute boat ride on the Seletar Reservoir. Boat rides start near the White Tiger habitat and Rainforest KidzWorld.
- This costs $5 per person.
- Then return in time for dinner at the 226m-high Equinox Restaurant - and the enchanting sundown views.
