Singapore Tour: Seeing Major Sights In 2 Days

My family would be visiting the beautiful country of Singapore for two days from 28 January 2010 to 30 January 2010 on our way back from India to New Zealand. We would be reaching Singapore early morning of 28th around 5 am from Kolkata and leaving Singapore around 8 am on 30th.

We have two days and two nights to see Singapore. We would like to visit the Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Sentosa Island, the Singapore Flyer, Chinatown, and Little India. We would also like to visit museums, shop and take bumboat and trishaw rides.

How would you advise us to schedule our Singapore tour so we can fit in most of the above?

2-Day Singapore Tour Itinerary (Fast Paced)

Hi Pallab

Welcome to Singapore.

Here's a suggested 2-day Singapore tour itinerary, based on your requests:

DAY 1

Morning: Jurong Bird Park

Afternoon: Singapore Zoo

I recommend taking a taxi for getting to Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Zoo and back to the city. It'll save you a lot of travel time.

Evening:

1) Have dinner at either Clarke Quay followed by a River Cruise on the Singapore River.

Note: The bumboats have be retired at the Singapore River. They have since been replaced by electric powered boats, which are quieter and smokeless - so that you can hear the commentary on board.

OR

2) Have dinner at Glutton's Bay (local food on the waterfront promenade near the Esplanade). Take a short walk down the road and ride the Singapore Flyer.

Thereafter, take MRT to Chinatown (from City Hall Station OR Clarke Quay Station).

Night: Visit Chinatown.

You are arriving during the (pre) 2010 Chinese New Year celebrations. So there'll be a thriving night market around the Chinatown MRT Station.

DAY 2

Morning to Early Evening:

Sentosa Island Tour

After Sentosa, take the MRT from Harbourfront Station to Little India Sation.

Night:
Visit Little India, including last-minute late night shopping at Mustafa Centre.

It's quite a lot for a 2-day Singapore tour. I recommend that you prioritise, and if you like a place, linger on and enjoy the moment.
