Singapore Tour for Mom and 8 Year Old Kid

Is it possible for a mother and an 8-year-old son to enjoy a Singapore tour together? Read on...
| Hi there! My son and I will be visiting Singapore for the first time to celebrate his 8th birthday. We will be arriving on 8 Dec at 8:05pm and will leave on 12 December at 8:55pm. I would like for us to visit Universal Studios, the Zoo (particularly Singapore Zoo - as my son sees this in Cartoon Network). We would also want to visit the Night Safari if possible. Then we wanted to go to Sentosa for Songs of the Sea. I was thinking of celebrating his birthday which is on Dec 10 either at Universal Studios or at Sentosa (please suggest which would be more fun for him and suggested activities too when in Sentosa). Then I wanted for us to try Marina Sands, as this was suggested by a friend. Can you also try to suggest some places to visit for food and shopping which will be enjoyable for an 8 year old kid. We would like to maximize our Singapore tour and hope you can really help us with our itinerary. Thank you so much in advance for your help! |
Hi Enyam
You could consider this Singapore tour itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrival and Supper
Check into hotel and rest. Or if the excitement is high, you could take your son out for supper at one of the 24-hour eateries around your hotel.
Day 2 - Duck Tour, Singapore Zoo & Night Safari
Take an amphibious vehicle and enjoy the city sights on land and on from the waters. Follow up with a trip to the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. The details are outlined on this Singapore tour itinerary.
Day 3 - Universal Studios Singapore
Begin the day at Universal Studios. Thereafter, 'play by ear'.
If you are occupied at Universal Studios for the whole day, you could then take your son to
i) souvenir-hunt at the Universal Studios shops, and
ii) have dinner at one of the delightful restaurants in Resorts World Sentosa.
This could be a wonderful birthday treat for him.
(If you're done with Universal Studios early, you may have time to check out one or two other spots on Sentosa Island.)
Day 3 - A Full Day Visiting Other Sentosa Attractions
There's enough entertain in Sentosa - apart from Universal Studios - to delight mom and son for a whole day.
Day 4 - A Shopping Spree for Mom and Son
Have a late start to the morning and head to the Bugis area (MRT: Bugis Station). It's time to shop before going home.
There are numerous toy shops in this part of Singapore, all clustered around the same area. Mom will also get distracted because it's women's shopping haven as well.
Particularly worthwhile for a mom-and-son tag team would be:
1) Bugis Junction (toys, clothes, accessories, etc)
2) Bugis Street Bazaar (bargains)
3) OG Building
Enjoy your Singapore tour.
