- Fireworks to be launched not long after 7pm
- Lion and Dragon Dance Performances
- Lantern Street Parade
- Street Light Up

- On Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and Street Bazaar
- 7pm to 12am from Sunday to Thursday
- 7pm to 2am on Friday, Saturday and Public Holidays

- In Pagoda Street, Terrenganu Street, Sago Street

- The opening night's events usually involve fireworks, and noisy, noisy performances.

- The 15th day of the 8th Lunar Month (3 Oct 09)
- The Moon is at its largest and roundest.
- This year, watch out for Mass Lantern Procession in Chinatown.
- The Opening Night (19 Sep 09)
- There are also free guided walking tours for visitors of the Chinatown area during these festivities.
They run from 18 Sep 09 to 11 Oct 09, except for 19 Sep 09 and 3 Oct 09. The tours start from the Chinatown Heritage Centre every half-hour from 4.30pm to 8pm. Registration is necessary.
- The festivities at Singapore River and Chinese Gardens - such as they do in previous years - will not be held in 2009.
