Singapore Hotels for Christmas

I am planning to stop over in Singapore in mid December. I am most interested in open air markets and street performers. Where would you recommend I stay where I can safely walk to these at night?

Consider Hotels at Clarke Quay and Scotts/Orchard Roads

Hi Stephanie

You could stay around these areas:

Clarke Quay:

1. Last year there were seasonal flea markets at Clarke Quay Central Square, and evening performances on nearby Read Bridge.

Many of the acts are also brought indoors, to the malls such as Central and Liang Court. Singapore is just too hot for street performances during the day.

2. Hotels around Clarke Quay:

- Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel

- Novotel Clarke Quay Hotel

- Park Hotel Clarke Quay

Orchard Road - Scotts Road Vicinity

1. This is where the main action is. There's a stretch outside Wisma Atria which is used by buskers and other performing groups.

However, it's extremely crowded here on weekends during the Christmas season.

- Royal Plaza Hotel on Scotts

- Marriott Hotel Singapore

- Meritus Mandarin Hotel
