Singapore Airport: Meeting A Contact While in Transit

May I know whether it's possible to meet a person at the Singapore Airport, when I am in transit and waiting for connecting flight? I'm holding an Indian passport.

You'll Need a Singapore Visa Either Way
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Jagadesh

there are 2 scenarios:

1. You are technically on a 'transit stopover'

If you are on a transit stopover - i.e. from the initial check-in, you already have a boarding pass for your onward flight from Singapore Airport - you may choose to clear immigration and meet your contact in the public area of the Singapore Airport.

(I'm not sure if you are allowed to clear immigration if your stopover is extremely short, however.)

2. You are taking a separate flight (2 different air tickets)

You'll obviously have to clear immigration in this case for your onward flight. Once you have cleared customs, you can go ahead and meet your contact.

Either way, you need a Singapore Visa. Please contact a Singapore Embassy in India regarding how you should go about obtaining the visa.
