Resting During Transit at Singapore Budget Terminal

Hi,

I am travelling from Perth to Chennai in Tiger airways. I arrive Singapore Budget terminal at 2am and connecting flight is at 8pm. Please advise a good place to rest and sleep for about 12 hours.

Can I access the transit lounges and hotels in Changi Airport?

2 Resting Options for Transit at Budget Terminal

Hi Ravi

assuming that you are arriving and leaving from the Singapore Budget Terminal, you cannot access the transit lounges and hotels in the restricted areas of the main terminals.

However, you may use the following:

1. the Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 3, which is in the public area.

You may book the use of their lounge(5-hour block) or their napping facility (compartments, 3-hour block).

I've previously written a post about this Lounge.

Feb 2010 Update:

This option is no longer available because Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 3 has stopped operations.

2. the Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi Airport.

This hotel is accessible from the public area. So passengers using the Budget Terminal can use them. However they don't charge hourly rate; they charge a full night's rate.

SINGAPORE ACCOMODATION

Thanks for your response.

My wife is pregnant. I am not sure if the napping compartments would be comfortable enough.

I such case I need to look at a hotel accomodation. Can anyone suggest a reasonable hotel near the terminal for the said timing?

An Alternative to the Airport Hotel

Hi Ravi

I don't know if this comes too late. But here's an alternative you might want to consider:

1. Take a taxi out of the airport.

This takes about 15 minutes and costs about S$20.

2. Check in to Hotel 81 Tristar (at Onan Road and Changi Road junction).

3. Take a taxi or the MRT back to the airport.

They have rates starting from S$138. And the Paya Lebar MRT Station is a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel.

There are also a few other hotels near Singapore Airport, which provide free shuttle service to and from the airport.

Hotel for Transit

Dear all,

could you please suggest for me a transit hotel near from the Budget Termnal? I need easy transportation at 4.30 AM from that hotel to the Budget Terminal.

I depature from Kuala Lumpur on 14.4 by Jetstar, arrive in Singapore 15.55 at Terminal 1 Changi.

I need a cheap hotel - clean, air-conditioned 24 hours, tv, wifi.
