Recommended Hotel in Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Can you save me lots of time and hassle and bless me with your knowledge of a reasonably nice hotel that you have stayed in or heard about from satisfied guests?

I have been surfing hotel websites for hours. The hotels have such mixed reviews....such a gamble.

A mid range hotel in KL city centre for around £20 per person is what I need after a 13 hour flight on day 1. Followed by a budget hotel on day 2 and 3.

Hope u can help with some honest insights & a few options...

Mid-range and Budget Hotels in KL City Centre

Hi Sandy

I've stayed at Hotel Federal and Hotel Istana. These are mid-range hotels with room rates of about RM 200. I've found them clean and convenient. Both are centrally located in Kuala Lumpur city centre, near to cafes, shopping malls and cinemas.

If you don't mind a bit of walking, the LRT stations are also around these hotels.

For budget hotels, consider Tune Downtown Hotel KL. This is a relatively new budget hotel, started by the same people who run Air Asia. I've not stayed there, but they seem to get quite a lot of good reviews. The good thing about them is that they break down the prices of everything. So if you don't need the air-con, you don't pay for it.
