Jetstar and Tiger Terminals: are they at the same place?

by Jackie
(Australia)

We are flying on a Tiger flight from Bangkok to Singapore and have 6 hours before connecting to our Jetstar flight to Australia.

Is Tiger's terminal near Jetstar's terminal? Or do we need to change airports?

Secondly, can we check our luggage into Jetstar early so we can then venture out of the airport? If not, is there anywhere that can hold luggage whilst we wait?

Singapore Airport Directions and Left Luggage Facilities
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Jackie

Tiger Airways uses the Budget Terminal. Jetstar uses Terminal 1, and does not do early check-in.

When you land at the Budget Terminal, you'll need to clear customs, and take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2 basement. The ride will take only 5-10 minutes.

From here, you have 2 choices:

1. Take a free tour.

Check if you could fit the free Singapore city tour into your schedule. Enquire at the Visitors' Centre at Terminal 2 Level 1 (Arrival Hall).

If you are taking the free tour, ask if the tour bus can hold your luggage.

If the bus can't hold your luggage, you can use the left luggage facility at Terminal 2 Level 1, Arrival Hall North.

Here are other left luggage facilities at Singapore Airport.

2. Explore the city yourself.

Leave your luggage at the location stated above. Then, grab hold of a free city map from the Visitors' Centre and see the city yourself. You'll likely have less than 2 hours of sight-seeing time.

You may take the MRT train from the Terminal 2 station to the city. (cheaper)

But, you'll probably have more time if you take a taxi to and from the city. (costlier)

It's also important to pace yourself and be on time for your onward flight.

Upon your return from the city tour, you can take the free Skytrain from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 and proceed to check in with Jetstar.

Have a pleasant stopover.
