Cash Limit and Reporting at Singapore Customs
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi there

I believe there's no limit on the amount or type of cash you can take into or out of Singapore.

But since 1 Nov 07, a traveller carrying at least *S$30,000 cash into or out of Singapore must file a report before clearing customs.

-----------------------------------------

* or cash in any currency equal to S$30,000

-----------------------------------------

To make this report, a traveller needs to fill up a form called the 'Physical Currency and Bearer Negotiable Instruments Report (Traveller)'.

This form can be found at the immigration card counters at Singapore Airport, as well as a few other locations.

This is part of a strategy to fight international crime.

As these regulations change frequently, please consult the Singapore Police website for the latest updates before you travel into or out of Singapore.
