A Suggested Singapore Tour Itinerary
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Jay

thanks for the information. Effectively, you have 3 full days plus one night (first night). It'll be too tight to pack everything you listed into this time, especially if you want to add a Malacca day trip as well.

I suggest a 3-day-plus Singapore tour itinerary as follows:

Day 1 Night:

1a. Singapore Flyer

1b. A slow walk from the Flyer to Marina Bay (including the Esplanade), Singapore River, and finally Clarke Quay.

1c. Have supper or a drink at one of the Clarke Quay restaurants.

Day 2:

A Day on Sentosa Island!

I described the above Sentosa tour plan as 'kids-friendly'. But the attractions there are suitable for everyone, just that there is nothing in there which children cannot do.

Day 3:

3a. Singapore Zoo (Morning and Early Afternoon)

3b. Try a high tea buffet at one of these Orchard Road restaurants: Marriott Cafe or Carousel Restaurant. Value for money in my opinion.

3c. Orchard Road (shop or people-watch)

Day 4:

Morning:

4a. Breakfast at Maxwell Road Food Centre (Chinatown).

4b. Walking tour of Chinatown.

If you are curious about the religions in Singapore, don't miss the Sri Mariammam Temple on South Bridge Road and Thian Hock Keng Temple on Telok Ayer Street.

It's quite fascinating to see so many different religions represented in just Chinatown alone!

Afternoon:

4c. Little India Walking Tour

Evening:

4d. The Options:

i. Shop at Mustafa Centre in Little India, OR
ii. Shop at Vivo City, OR
iii. Night Safari (if you don't plan on visiting the Singapore Zoo).

Some Notes:

1. Of course, if you plan to make a day trip to Malacca, you'll need to give up one of the days in Singapore.

2. You probably know... it can get quite hot in Singapore during the day. It's good to alternate between indoor and outdoor activities, even pausing to rest in your hotel. Otherwise, it can be quite tiring. But if you and your wife have the stamina, then by all means...

3. I always recommend visitors to take it easy in Singapore. Trying to 'cover' too many places can lead to frustration. If something captures your attention, just linger a little longer and enjoy it.

(However, if you are going to Malacca, don't miss the bus there and back! ;-) )

Let me know if all these ideas make sense. And ask all the questions you want, till you are sure you've got it worked out for your Singapore tour in April.

Sentosa + Vivo City is a Great Fit!
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Jeremy

thanks for the input. You are absolutely right! Vivo City and Sentosa are a perfect fit as they are just next to each other. Why didn't I think of that?

And yups, if you are a shopper, you'll need more than an evening on Orchard Road ;-)
