Handling Cigarettes During Singapore Transit
by Brian
(London)
HI, I intend coming into Singapore, staying over for 4 nights, then doing a tour of Malaysia, then flying back to London from Changi Airport, my question is this:
Say I buy 1000, thats 5 cartons of cigarettes, can I leave them in left Luggage in the transit area, and collect them to bring them back to the UK, without actually going through Customs?
OR..........
I believe that if I declare them to the Customs on my arrival, that they will place them in a bonded store, and I wont have to pay duty,as I am not actually bringing them past customs and then I will pay approx SD$ 5.00 per week storage charge and will be allowed pick them up on my return to the UK.
Does any one know of this facility?
