From Transit Hotel to Singapore Night Safari

I have 24 hours in Singapore and have booked into the Transit Hotel. Is it possible to get to the Night Safari from there, or should I rebook into a city hotel?

No Problem - But Check Visa Requirement

Hi there

I'm assuming that you are on a transit stopover at the Singapore Airport and have already been issued the boarding pass for your onward flight out of Singapore.

There are then 2 issues you should be concerned about:

1. Visa Requirement for Singapore

The Transit Hotel is in the restricted transit area of Singapore Airport. Hence, you don't need to clear immigration/customs checks if you are staying there all the way till your onward flight.

To get to the Night Safari, you need to clear immigration checks. This is not an issue if you don't need a visa to enter Singapore. But if you need one, ensure that you have it before arrival.

2. Transport to Night Safari

It's easy to get to the Night Safari from the airport. A taxi will likely cost you between $18-$30 depending on the day/time you leave the airport. For the trip back to the airport, the fare is slightly lower (without the airport surcharge).

A cheaper (but more time-consuming) way is to take Bus No. 24 from the airport's basement to Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange, followed by Bus No. 138 to the Night Safari. You need to have the exact fare as there is no bus attendant to take your notes.

You could use the same transport route if you want to visit the Singapore Zoo, which is next to the Night Safari.

= 30 to 40 minutes.

Bus (Airport - AMK - Night Safari)
= 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours
