Tips for Transit Passengers
Important Note:
The Free Singapore Tour described on this page is meant for transit passengers only. So if you are already in the city, you may not join this tour. Note also that it is subject to immigration requirements, i.e. the traveller should be holding a valid visa (if required), passport, etc.
- Many transit passengers with limited time have often tried to 'do their own tours', thinking that it'll be more interesting. But if it's your first time transiting through Singapore and you are not familiar with the place, this can often be hit-or-miss. I recommend the above tours to you instead.
- This free Singapore tour is very well thought out. You will have a meaningful time, even though the tour is basically a 'sampler'. But heck, you're only on transit and it's free!
- If you have done one of them, you could always do the second option on another transit.
- If you don't want to join the free tour, you may take the free airport-city shuttle bus to the following spots in town:
- The Singapore Flyer (currently the world's highest observation wheel)
- Suntec City (glitzy mega-mall for that quick shopping tour)
- Bugis Street Bazaar
- Little India (a chance to visit the 24/7 mega-mall Mustafa Centre)
Note:
This free shuttle bus is also only for transit passengers with 5+ hours to kill.
- The Singapore Visitors Centre will have the latest updates about the free tour and the free city shuttle. You should approach the Visitors' Centre located in the Transit Mall before you clear customs, not the one after you have cleared customs.
Here are the locations of the Visitors' Centres at Changi Airport: - Terminal 1: at Transit Mall East, Level 2 (next to Nexus Lounge B)
- Terminal 2: at Transit Mall North, Level 2 (near the Fern Garden)
- Terminal 3: at Transit Mall South, Level 2 (next to Transfer Lounge A)
- This Free City Tour is now also available to passengers using the Singapore Budget Terminal. Take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2 and enquire at the Visitors' Centre at the Arrival Hall.
- There are other transport options if you are looking for more than just a free Singapore tour.
