Entry Into Singapore Only with Valid Visa

by Sagar
(Dallas, Texas, USA)

Hi, my name is Sagar and I'm student in the US. I hold an Indian Passport and have a expired US visa but a valid I-94.

I wish to visit Singapore on my way to India. I plan to book 2 different flight tickets from San Fransisco to Singapore and from there onwards to Mumbai, with a 2-day gap in between them.

Will I get a visa on arrival or will I have to get a visa before I arrive at Singapore?

A Visa is Needed to Enter Singapore
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Sagar

in your case, you'll need a visa to enter Singapore, before you arrive. Inquire about this visa from a Singapore Overseas Mission office.

As of 7 February 2009, an Indian passport holder with a valid US visa is able to transit in Singapore for up to 96 hours without a visa.

The I-94 card only indicates to the US authorities when a person arrives and leaves the US. It will not give you entry into Singapore.

As I'm not the official voice of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authorities, please verify all this information with a Singapore Overseas Mission near you.

Below is the Singapore Overseas Mission contact in San Francisco:

Address:
595 Market Street, Suite 2450
San Francisco, CA 94105

Email: singcg_sfo@sgmfa.gov.sg

Telephone:
001-1-(415) 543-4775
001-1-(415) 543-0474
001-1-(415) 543-6574

Their office, according to the Singapore Foreign Affairs website, is open 9am-12noon on weekdays for visa application.
