Declaring Watches at the Airport?

by Mari
(Singapore)

Do I have to declare if I am bringing OUT of Singapore more than 5 hand watches as gifts for my loved ones?

I only go home once a year. As such, I will be bringing home gift watches for all my relatives. I think it will be about 10 of them. Is there any restriction or rule (Singapore Airport) that I need to observe? I hope I need not pay any tax or something?

No Declaration Needed As Far As I Know

Hi Mari

As far as I'm aware, there's no need to declare your watches when taking them out from Singapore Airport.

However, the police requires anyone carrying S$30,000 cash - or equivalent in other currencies - to declare it.

Does your destination airport impose any taxes or duties on watches? You'll also need to find out.
