Cigarette Brand Unavailable in Singapore

by Dario

The cigarette brand that I smoke is not available in Singapore and it is very difficult for me to switch brands when I am visiting here. What do you suggest I do?

I'd like to bring one ream of that brand, which is DJ MIX, and use it for personal purposes. However, I do not think it is logical to pay hundreds of dollars for a purchase of one ream costing $16 USD. On the other hand, that is the only brand I smoke.

Please advise. Thank you.

The Only Way is to Pay the Tobacco Duties
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Dario

I'm afraid the only way to get that ream/carton of cigarettes through Singapore customs is to pay the duties and taxes.

It probably won't run into hundreds of dollars, but it'll still be quite substantial.

How about smoking something that 'smells' like DJ MIX when you're in Singapore? The common brands, such as Salem, Marlboro, Dunhill, etc are sold in Singapore.

Sorry, I really can't help beyond that.
