Whisky and How Much You May Take Out of Singapore Airport

Hi there

I don't know what brands of whisky you may buy in Singapore. However, I can share the following pointers with you:

1. Note that Singapore Airport implements this international aviation rule:

Any container larger than 100ml cannot be brought into the plane's cabin.

This means that you cannot buy whisky from outside the Singapore Airport and take it up the plane.

2. When you buy whisky from the duty-free shop at Singapore Airport, it will be packed in a specially sealed bag. The airlines will allow only these specially sealed bottles into the cabins.

3. How much duty-free whisky can you take out of Singapore? It depends on:

a. how much your airline allows you to take on board, and

b. how much duty-free whisky your destination country allows you to bring in.

Whisky in Check In Baggage

I want to take 4 litres in my check in luggage and want to buy another four at the duty free shop as one adult passport has choice to buy 2 litres each. Advice me how much is allowed and do they check check in baggage as well.

Whisky Duty Free Allowance & Other Issues

Hi

I don't think there's a limit on how much whisky you can bring into Singapore.

However, if you are a bona fide traveller, you're entitled to 1 litre of whisky duty-free, regardless of whether you put the bottle in your check in luggage or cabin luggage.

So any whisky over the 1 litre duty free allowance has to be declared at the red lane and the duties and taxes paid up at inspection.
