Budgeting for Singapore Tour

Hi, I'm planning to visit Singapore for 4 days and 3 nights. My package includes a half day visit to Johor, Malaysia and a full day in Batam,Indonesia. Package includes daily breakfast and 1 lunch in Batam.

How much pocket money do you think will I need to survive the 4 days? An idea on food prices, fares, and airport taxes, etc. I need to know everything and how much budget (pocket money) should I set aside. Maybe a daily budget is great.

ALso, if you could include the best places to visit in Singapore and how much should it cost me.

Budget for Singapore Tour with Johor-Batam Excursions

Hi Michael

1. Budget Per Day

I've previously written a page with cost estimates for taking a Singapore tour.

Budget Singapore Tour:
- S$50-60 per person per day
- using hostel dorm bed, public transport, hawkers' centre food & free DIY walking tours

Luxury Singapore Tour:
- upwards of S$800 per person per day

2. Singapore Airport Tax

- departing from main terminal: S$28
- departing from Budget Terminal: S$15

This is usually included in your package or air-ticket. But check with your agent.

3. Cost Estimates for Johor and Batam Tours

a. Food from small operators (hawkers' centres and small shops) in Johor and Batam is about 50% the cost of Singapore. In the restaurants and higher-range eateries, it's probably only 10-20% cheaper.

b. Branded goods and consumer electronics? Buy them in Singapore!

c. There are probably bargains for clothing, handicraft and souvenirs which are better value in Johor and Batam than in Singapore.

4. Recommended Spots in Singapore.
