Alcohol Purchase during Changi Airport Transit

I am to travel from London to Sydney via Changi. It is just a short refuelling stop, not a stopover. While in the airport, am I able to buy whisky and take it back on the plane?

Hi there

To buy whisky at the duty free shops, you'll need to show your passport and the boarding pass for your onward flight.

The salespeople there usually have a list showing the duty-free allowance for common destination airports. Seek their advice as to how much you may buy.

If you've already bought some whisky at London Airport, this will also count towards your duty-free allowance when you arrive in Sydney. This means that if you buy more whisky at Changi and exceed your duty free allowance for Sydney, you may need to pay duty and tax for the excess whisky.
