Airport Taxes in Singapore

I'd like to know if I'll be paying any terminal fee or airport tax if I purchased my tickets(Jetstar) online and how much would it cost me?

Airport Taxes Included in the Final Fare
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Benny
I did a 'trial' booking procedure at Jetstar. The airport taxes and fuel surcharges are shown separately from the base fare. But they are included in the total price (final fare).

So the airport taxes are included in the final price of your ticket.

The Passenger Service Charge at Singapore Airport - commonly called the airport tax - is currently S$21.

Most airlines will include this in the final price of the air-ticket. If it's not included, a passenger departing from Changi Airport will have to pay this tax when checking in.

Unused Airport Taxes Refundable?
by: John

I would like to know if airlines who collect airport taxes incorporated in their ticket value are duty bound to refund these taxes if they have not been spent, i.e. a passenger has cancelled the flight?

Further if they are refundable, has the airline the right to charge an administrative fee which can amount to more than the airport tax to refund this fee?

Read the Fine Print
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi John

Airlines should normally refund the unused airport tax included in their air ticket price, but they may also impose an administrative charge for granting a refund on airticket.

This information is usually in the fine print of the refund policy, but here's not the place to discuss the ethics of airticket pricing.
