Additional Surcharges with Budget Airlines in Singapore?

by Sandy
(Indonesia)

I'm planning to fly with Air Asia from Singapore.

Is there any surcharge that will be added at the airport counter when I check in? The e-ticket only shows payment for airport tax. Thanks.

Airport Taxes Normally Included in Ticket. But...
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Sandy

Normally, all the required airport taxes are already included in the price of a budget airline ticket in Singapore.

However, the budget airlines now habitually charge for check-in luggage.

Before you click through to pay for your air-ticket, you're normally asked to indicate if you'd like to pay for any check-in luggage.

If you've not paid for check-in luggage allowance during the web booking, but then decided to check in luggage at the airport, you'll have to pay a check-in luggage surcharge.

Thanks, Gabriel for your reply.

Oh yes, the luggage check-in charge has been included also when I made ticket reservation.

But I can not find about "fuel surcharge".Sometimes it's free but sometimes not. I'm not sure Air Asia will charge it when I check in at airport counter or not?

Thanks.

Fuel Surcharge Included in Final Price of Air Ticket
by: Gabriel Tan

Hi Vee

The budget airlines seem to lump the fuel surcharge, taxes and basic fare together nowadays. This seems a cool thing to do now, among the budget airlines.

So the fuel surcharge is already in your final ticket price.

Fuel Surcharge is already included in the ticket

Don't worry, it's already in your final price. Because nowadays, AirAsia does offer flight with no fuel surcharge.

I myself have been flying several times with budget airline such as AirAsia with no fuel surcharge.

AirAsia even has ontime guarantee program. If your flight is delayed for more than 2 hours, they will compensate by giving you e-voucher worth RM200 or equivalent. This voucher can be used for purchasing your next flight.

Enjoy your flight!
