Access to Transit Hotel at Singapore Airport

My group arrives after midnight on Tiger airways at the Singapore Budget Terminal. We need to check in to Singapore Airport Terminal 1 for our onward flight at 11:00 the next morning.

1. We would like to stay in the Transit Hotel during the night. Is there anyway we can get into the secure areas earlier? Does Tiger print boarding passes ahead of time? If we cannot stay at the transit hotel, does anyone have any good suggestions for a cheap and preferably nearby place to stay a few hours before our outgoing flight?

2. I saw someone mentioned the plaza lounge in the non-secure part of the airport. Would they have places for 5 people to lie down?

Using the Transit Hotel and Plaza Premium Lounge at Singapore Airport

1. Early Check-in, Transit Hotel & Alternative at Singapore Airport

Singapore Airlines and SilkAir have 24-hour check-in facilities at Singapore Airport. If your onward flight is with either of these airlines, ask if you could check in your luggage early, get your boarding passes and proceed to the Transit Hotel.

With other airlines, early check-in is not possible at this moment.

There's also Crowne Plaza Hotel (Tel: +65 68235300) at the airport itself. However, you'll not be paying for hourly blocks, but an entire night's room charge. Their room charge start from S$238 as of 9 Nov 08. This hotel is accessible from the public area.

2. Lounge and Napping Facilities at Plaza Premium Lounge, Terminal 3 Public Access Area

Jan 2010 Update:
Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 3 has closed. The branch in operation is currently located at Terminal 2 transit area. Tel: +65 6545 0388

The Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 3 Level 1 is indeed accessible from the public area.

You could book their napping compartments for S$37.45 nett for a 3-hour block. These are cubicle-style napping facilities, not private rooms.

They have 7 napping compartments, with 3 more which they could convert from the massage area, should there be demand.

The napping facilities are first-come-first-served and cannot be booked way in advance.

When you reach the Budget Terminal, you could however call and ask if they could hold these facilities until you arrive at the Lounge. The contact number for Plaza Premium Lounge (Terminal 3) is +65 62416566.

Else, you could use their lounge area for S$32.10 nett for 5 hours. For this fee, you could snooze on their sofas. Other services included in this package: shower facility, internet access, newspapers, free flow of beverages and snacks, etc.

Access to Transit Hotel

Hi

I am arriving at Singapore at 6.30 a.m. with my family (3) by TR 653 (Tiger Airways) from Bangalore.

My hotel in Singapore is available at 2.00 p.m.

If I want to stay 3 to 4 hours at the Transit Hotel, how can I go ahead?

No Access to Transit Hotel from Budget Terminal

Hi Cyril

Tiger Airways fly into the Singapore Budget Terminal, which is in a different building from the main terminals.

The Transit Hotel is in the transit area of the main terminals. Passengers arriving at the Budget Terminal may not use the Transit Hotel since they cannot enter the transit area of the main terminals.

If you want to rest for a few hours at Singapore Airport, you may use the Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 3, which is open to Budget Terminal passengers.

Take the free shuttle from the Budget Terminal to Terminal 2, followed by the Skytrain to Terminal 3.

Access to Transit Hotel and Plaza Premium Lounge

HI Gabriel,

My flight with Emirates will arrive in Singapore at midnight. I will not be able to check-in with my hotel in the city until 2pm. Is it possible for me to take a rest at Transit Hotel or Plaza Premium Lounge for 6 hours before going to the city in the morning?

Resting before checking into city hotel

Hi Jopie

You may rest at both the Transit Hotel and Plaza Premium Lounge. Go directly to them upon arrival, as both are in the restricted transit area. You'll clear immigration only after your rest, and collect your luggage from Lost and Found.

1) If you plan on using the Transit Hotel, try to reserve ahead.

2) The Plaza Premium Lounge is not a hotel. They provide lounge service with light meals, showers and napping compartments. They are located in the restricted/transit area of Terminal 2. Note that their branch at Terminal 3 has closed.
