5 Days Singapore Vacation for First Timers
5 days' Singapore vacation taking in the main sights: Universal Studios, Sentosa, Orchard Road and the ethnic enclaves.
|Hi e-tour, I would like to commend you for the wonderful travel tips and guides that you are providing. You really are of great help to travelers like me.|
I (20 yrs old) together with my brother (22 yrs old) and 2 cousins (19 yrs and 16 yrs old) will depart the Philippines on April 9, 2012 at 5:50am and will arrive at 9:20am. We plan to stay for about 5days and 5 nights, and will depart on April 14, 2012. Bugis Area is the place we plan to stay, but I would be glad if you could suggest other area in Singapore where we could find a budget-friendly hotel.
As much as possible, we try to have a tight budget on the hotel and food, but our budget on the sightseeing stuff is okay. Here's our planned itinerary:
see the Bugis area, go to Sim Lim Square, Kampong Glam, then go to Little India.
Universal Studios and probably visit Resorts World Sentosa
Sentosa sightseeing, then probably go shopping in the evening
Go to Suntec City mall, then Fort Canning, and other nearby sightseeing area like Old Parliament House, Singapore National Museum, Clarke Quay. Visit the Merlion Park and China Town.
Jurong Bird Park, then go to shopping at Orchard Road
I don't know if this itinerary would work, but we would like to maximize our limited time to enjoy both the day and night life of Singapore. We have no problem in taking long walks, and love exploring. I'm hoping for a great vacation this April, thanks. :)

.ITINERARY FOR 5-DAY SINGAPORE VACATION
You are quite spot-on with your itinerary. I made a few changes as follows:Day 1 - Bugis, Little India and Electronics Shopping
Start with the sights in Kampong Glam. Then proceed to Bugis Junction, Bugis Street Bazaar, Waterloo Street. Cross the road to Sim Lim Square. And end the day at Little India.Day 2 - Universal Studios and Sentosa Island
Universal Studios and a few other fun spots in Sentosa.Day 3 - Jurong Bird Park & Chinatown
After a morning at the Bird Park, head down to Chinatown for lunch. Do try the deserts and local food at Chinatown Complex Food Centre, Maxwell Road Food Centre or People's Park Food Centre.
Do give yourself enough time to wander around in Chinatown.Day 4 - A Good Sequence for Seeing the City Core of Singapore
Start with the National Museum. Then Fort Canning Park - do visit the Battle Box for some WW2 history. Descend the steps to the Clarke Quay area, Old Parliament House and Merlion Park.Day 5 - One More Day of Fun
You could spend an extra day in Sentosa. Or shop in Orchard Road. Or take the MRT to a heartland town such as Toa Payoh, Tiong Bahru, or Bedok - some have been surprised in these towns. Holland Village also has a very nice vibe, and is especially liked by young people.
Have a great Singapore vacation.
