(Makati City, Philippines)
Hi, my husband and I will be on vacation from June 12 arriving at 7pm and leaving on June 16, 10.45am. This is our first year anniversary. How can we possibly squeeze in all worthwhile scenes and locations? We are booked at Hotel Bencoolen and we intend to get a ticket for the Hippo and Duck Tours - Flyer, Duck Tour, city tour, heritage tour, river cruise, Rhino Feeder, Moonlight Adventure, initially the Singapore Pass. Any idea how we can wisely use it and budget our time? Itinerary below though I haven't checked on the feasibility yet, including distance and travel time. Day 1 (Saturday – June 12) Arrival: 6:55 PM 1. Check in @ Hotel Bencoolen 2. Funnan IT Mall - to buy a camera 3. Esplanade 4. Dinner @ Makansutra Gluttons Bay - Esplanade - any other suggested restaurant? 5. Merlion Day 2 1. Singapore Flyer 2. Hippo Duck Tour 3. Possibly Sentosa 3. Something special for our anniversary - don't know yet 4. Night out at Clark Quay Day 3 1. China Town 2. Little India 3. Suntec City 4. Orchard 5. Ang Mo Kio - to visit some friends Day 4 1. Universal Studio 2. Bugis We'd like to taste the food and go to the hawker centers, possibly Night Safari and shopping. Hope you can help. Thanks! |
Hi Mei-Lin
It's nice you've chosen to spend your first wedding anniversary in Singapore.
You effectively have 3 full days to enjoy yourselves. And I feel that your itinerary is too ambitious - you'll be surprised how much time you could spend at each place!
I'll try to help you trim down your itinerary, keeping what I think will make for an enjoyable (and possibly romantic) Singapore vacation.
DAY 1 - EVENING
After checking into your hotel, have a late dinner near your hotel. I recommend trying local food at the 24-hour Kopitiam Food Court @ Plaza by the Park - which is just a 5-minute walk down the road from your hotel.
DAY 2 - UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE & SENTOSA ISLAND
Spend the larger part of the day at Universal Studios Singapore.
Then leave around 4pm for Sentosa Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon @ Palawan Beach (combined ticket).
Have dinner at Koufu Food Court on Palawan Beach (affordable) or at The Cliff at Sentosa Resort & Spa (expensive but romantic).
To round up the night, watch the Songs of the Sea pyrotechnic show (8.40pm) or/and do a romantic night-time Luge & Skyride.
If you are still energetic after this, you could party away at St James Powerstation near Sentosa Island, or head back to Clarke Quay for one of the many night spots there.
DAY 3 - MARINA BAY & CITY HIGHLIGHTS
Morning:
a) Singapore Flyer
b) Duck Tour from Suntec City Galleria
Afternoon / Early Evening:
Shopping at...
a) Suntec City Mall
b) Raffles City Shopping Centre
c) Camera Shopping at Funan IT Mall
(Recommended camera shops in Singapore)
Evening:
Have a romantic dinner at one of the restaurants at Singapore River or Clarke Quay.
DAY 4 - CHINATOWN & LITTLE INDIA
Morning:
Take a walking tour of Chinatown, taking in the sights at Pagoda Street, Temple Street, Ann Siang Road, Club Street and Telok Ayer Street.
Afternoon & Evening:
Enjoy the colourful sights and sounds at Little India Singapore.
Culminate with some last minute shopping at Mustafa Centre.
Get your friends to meet you in town. Or squeeze in the visit to Ang Mo Kio on Day 4 evening.
DAY 5 - GOING HOME
With a 10.45am departure, you'll only have time to take a leisurely breakfast near/at your hotel and prepare to go home.
Have a great trip to Singapore.
Gabriel Tan
