Hi Editha
Here's a suggested Singapore tour plan:
Day 1 - Duck Tour, Singapore Zoo & Night Safari
Go on the wacky, land-and-water Duck Tour, which takes in the main sights in the city and Marina Bay on an amphibious WW2 vehicle. The vehicle's vibration should excite a 9-year-old boy, while Mum also gets an overview of the city.
Follow this up with the Zoo in the afternoon and the Night Safari in the evening.
Detailed itinerary for Duck Tour + Zoo + Night Safari.
Day 2 - Singapore Farm Tour
Visit the Kranji Countryside on this Singapore Farm Tour.
Rent a car and do a leisurely self-drive tour. Or you could take the Kranji Express from the Kranji MRT Station. Read the itinerary carefully to maximise your time there.
Day 3 - Universal Studios Singapore
Set aside a day at Universal Studios Singapore.
Round up the day with a dinner at one of the restaurants at Resorts World Sentosa or Vivo City Mall. Or hop over to the Cable Car Tower at Harbourfront, book the Sky Dining package by Jewel Box and enjoy a sunset dinner in a cable car with your son.
Day 4 - Jurong Bird Park, Science Centre, Omnitheatre
On Day 4, go on this Singapore tour to Jurong attractions.
Day 5 - Shopping at Bras Basah & Little India
On Day 5, go on a mother-and-son shopping trip in the Bras Basah District and Little India.
Start the day with a visit to the Mint Museum of Toys at Seah Street (near Raffles Hotel). Then proceed to Bras Basah Complex on North Bridge Road nearby. Bras Basah Complex is an excellent place to look for books, comics and hobby craft stuff.
With walking distance from Bras Basah Complex are:
a) Sunshine Plaza - toy and hobby craft shops.
b) Bugis Junction & Bugis Street Bazaar - great shopping for both mum and son.
If you have time, proceed to Mustafa Centre in Little India for the last leg of Day 5's shopping trip/walking tour.
Note:
You need to get hold of a free Singapore city map to get around the places described on Day 5. When you arrive at Singapore Airport, approach the Visitors' Centre for one of these maps.
Have a good holiday in Singapore.
