4 Days' Group Tour in Singapore
Taking a group tour in Singapore, using tourist passes and managing the needs of a diverse group...
|Dear all, I will have 4 days trip in Singapore - in total 8 adults & 3 children with tentative plan as follow:|
Day 01/ 19 Jan '11:
Arrive in Singapore 11.40
Day 02/ 20 Jan '11:
Either Universal Studios Singapore + Songs of the Sea or joining Hippo Bus
Day 03/ 21 Jan '11:
Either Sentosa full day of Hippo Bus
Day 04/ 22 Jan '11:
1. I'm considering taking 2 days pass for Hippo (cheaper and can get river cruise). Anyone knows how to bus on spot and how to use the pass?
2. Any suggestion if I go to USS using cable car one way, and after SOS back to hotel by tram/bus?
Or how to make it cheaper & convenient as we will spend the full day here?
3. Should I spend Sentosa full day on Day 03 or better enjoy the city?
Thanks & open for any suggestion which is more comfortable (we have 2 senior citizens in group), not too tired, and limited budget.
I'm not a fan of tourist passes with multiple stops and entries. I've bought them before, but I often end up using only a small portion of the pass.
Many visitors write in and tell me that they usually plan half a day at one spot, only to spend the entire day there. Singapore is small, but not
Given the size of your group and the limited time you have, I recommend that you see fewer places but see them well.
So with regards to any tourist pass you plan to buy, weigh up the discounts against the time you have to use it. Make sure it is worthwhile.
Here's a suggested itinerary for your tour in Singapore:Day 1 - Marina Bay & City Sights
You could start the afternoon with a ride on the Singapore Flyer, or a river cruise originating from the Esplanade Waterfront.
Thereafter, you could go shopping at the Marina Bay malls or explore the Singapore River
area.Day 2 - Universal Studios and Other Sentosa Attractions
To get to Universal Studios, take the MRT to Harbourfront Station, followed by the Sentosa Express from Vivo City Level 3.
You're likely to spend the bulk of the day at Universal Studios. If you still have time after that, you could visit one or two other Sentosa attractions, such as Songs of the Sea.
If you fancy a cable car ride, you could take it from Imbiah Lookout to return to the mainland.Day 3 - Sentosa Island, or Hippo Bus, or Little India/ChinatownOption A: Sentosa Island
There's enough on Sentosa Island
to occupy you for another day.Option B: Hippo Bus
Go on the multi-stop Hippo Bus and sample some parts of the city.Option C: Little India/Chinatown
Sample the curries, visit the temples, and bargain-shop in Little India
Go on a walking and shopping tour of Chinatown.
i) Your tour in Singapore coincides with the pre-Chinese New Year shopping season. So you could catch the Street Light Up and Chinese New Year celebrations
ii) Your group could split up on the last day. The older folks may not fancy another day on Sentosa - they may enjoy the Chinese New Year buzz in Chinatown more.Day 4 - Departure
You may have time for some last-minute shopping near your hotel.
Enjoy your tour in Singapore.
