4 Day Singapore Vacation Plan

by Finni
(Jakarta, Indonesia)

Hi. This is my first time to Singapore with my husband and my children (8 and 10 years old). I want to mix this trip with shopping and adventure. We will arrive on Tuesday 6th July, 2010 at 19.40 and return on Monday 12th July, 2010 at noon.

On the first day we want to go to Malaysia. Our Singapore vacation begins on Thursday 8th July. We would like to visit:

1. Singapore Zoo
2. Universal Studios Singapore
3. Sentosa Island (Songs of the Sea)
4. Singapore Science Centre
5. Snow City
6. Mint Museum of Toys
7. Merlion Statue
8. Esplanade
9. Orchard Road
10. Bugis
11. Little India
12. Chinatown

Could you kindly suggest an itinerary for our Singapore vacation please?

Hi Finni

Here's a suggested itinerary for your Singapore vacation:

DAY 1 (8 JULY) - UNIVERSAL STUDIOS & SENTOSA ISLAND

Start the day at Universal Studios Singapore, which is located on Sentosa Island.

In the late afternoon or early evening, take the Sentosa Express (monorail) to Beach Station.

Nearby is the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. Buy a (discounted) family package for the luge-and-skyride - you take the Skyride up to Imbiah Lookout and descend go-cart style back to the beach area on the Luge.

Then catch the Songs of the Sea pyrotechnic show at 7.40pm or 8.40pm.

Catch dinner at a restaurant on Sentosa Island or at Vivo City Mall (accessible by the Sentosa Express).

DAY 2 - SINGAPORE SCIENCE CENTRE & SNOW CITY

Visit the Singapore Science Centre and Snow City on this Singapore Science Centre itinerary.

Note:
To still fit in a trip to the Singapore Zoo, you'll need to:

a) either forgo Snow City,
b) or spend less time at the Science Centre.

Either way, you'll need to take a taxi from Science Centre/Snow City to the Zoo.

For Days 3 and 4, you need a free Singapore city map - get it from the Visitors' Centre when you arrive at Singapore Airport.

DAY 3 - CHINATOWN, LITTLE INDIA & BUGIS

Morning: Chinatown

The main sights are on South Bridge Road, Pagoda Street and Temple Street. But if you are looking for interesting shops to browse, I recommend that you check out Club Street and Ann Siang Road.

From Chinatown, take the MRT to Little India.

Afternoon: Little India

Here are the main sights in Little India - remember to wander off to the side streets.

Evening: Mustafa Centre (Little India) or Bugis Junction

DAY 4 - ESPLANADE, MINT MUSEUM OF TOYS & ORCHARD ROAD

You could shop at Esplanade Mall, or enjoy the sights of Marina Bay from the Singapore Flyer or from a Singapore River Cruise.

From the Esplanade, it's a short walk to the Mint Museum of Toys on Seah Street. Backtrack to City Hall MRT Station for the train ride to Orchard Road for a last-minute shopping spree.

Have an enjoyable Singapore vacation.

Invitation Letter
by: Carmina

Hi! My husband from Australia ( Filipino ) is celebrating his birthday on the 26th of August, as a treat we want us to be in SIngapore w/ my niece & nephew (I'm here in Manila).

Are we allowed to enter Singapore w/o any invitation, just hotel bookings & return ticket for 4 days? Actually its not my first time visit but I am accompanied by my nephew & niece 'coz I am 23 weeks pregnant w/ medical clearance from my OB Gynaecologist. Thanks & Have a nice day!

Hi Carmina

Filipinos generally do not need a visa to enter Singapore as tourists. But with regards to Singapore entry requirements, you're better off consulting the people at Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, than to seek opinion here on the web.

Singapore Tour Inquiry
by: Joy

Hi! We'l be travelling to Singapore, arriving April 29 1am and leaving May 3 1240am.

This is our secong time. We've been to Sentosa but wasn't able to watch Songs of the Sea. We'll be seeing Universal Studios this time, and Night Safari. We've been to Singapore zoo, Esplanade and Merlion.

Can you please help me to make a new itinerary, with spare time to shop on the side esp going to Mustafa. I'll greatly appreciate. My hubby and 11y/o daughter are included in this trip. Thank you.
