2D1N Desaru Johor Tour - Time Saving Itinerary
|Hi, we are driving from Singapore to Desaru for 2D1N tour and staying at Lotus Desaru Beach Resort. How can we efficiently plan our route to all those farms you mentioned in "Johor Farm Tour"? |
Is it better to check-in the resort first, then travel out to those farms or we can visit the farms first then proceed to resort? We plan to set off from Singapore around 7 or 8am. Roughly, we can reach there around 10 plus right? Do you have any better suggestion for lunch beside taking it in resort?
If the time allows, we want to visit all the farms in the afternoon. If not, we want to visit at least the fruit farm and ostrich farm. As we have four small kids going together, we don't want to spend too much time on driving. Can you help me on the route planning? Which way is more time efficient? Or Should I join the tour trip from resort side? This is first time we driving down to Desaru. I am afraid we waste time on the road finding.
We thought of visiting the fruit farm and having dinner there. Is there better choice for dinner? Please help us on the planning of the whole route. Thanks.
1) I recommend that you visit the farms before you check in to your resort at Desaru - for 2 reasons:
a) The check-in time for resorts is usually in the mid-afternoon. If you start driving from Singapore at 7am/8am, you'll reach the resort around 11am - too early for check-in. (I'm assuming moderate traffic at the checkpoints here.)
b) If you drive to the resort first and then back-track to see the farms, you'll clock extra km on your drive. Moreover, it's better to see the farms in the morning, when the weather is generally less hot than in the afternoon.
2) So here's my suggestion to optimise your Desaru-Johor Tour:7/8am
: Depart SingaporeMid-morning - About 1pm
a) Kota Tinggi Crocodile Farm (Crocodile World)
b) Desaru Fruit Farm
c) Desaru Ostrich Farm
Backtrack onto Highway 90, and onwards to the Desaru resort area.Lunch options
1) Telok Sengat Seafood Restaurant.
This restaurant is run by the sister of the owner of Kota Tinggi Crocodile Farm, and is within the same village as the crocodile farm. Just ask the owner of the crocodile and he'll definitely direct you there. There are also signboards with direction.
2. At Desaru Fruit Farm.
Not too sure if they serve lunch regularly. But I did see an area with restaurant-type tables and chairs.
3. At Pengerang Village.
After visiting the Desaru Fruit Farm, backtrack onto Highway 90, then Highway J52. Check the location on a paper map or on Google Maps. There's some backtracking, but folks who've eaten at the Pengerang restaurants tell me they are quite worthwhile.Mid-afternoon onwards
Drive to your resort at Desaru. Check with reception how you could book the Fireflies Tour.
This is a different fireflies tour from the one at Kota Tinggi. The resorts have an arrangement with someone who operates a fireflies tour nearer to the resorts.Evening
: Fireflies tour at Desaru.
Have an enjoyable Desaru Johor Tour.
