20-Hour Transit Time at Singapore Airport - Where to Rest?

Hi,
I am travelling from Los Angeles to India and have 30 hrs of stoppage time at Singapore Airport. The Airline is not providing any help with accomodation/food.

How can I make necessary low-cost arrangement to rest or reserve a lounge for myself.

All help/suggestions are truly appreciated.

Options for Long Transit at Singapore Airport

Hi Rachana

there're a few things you could do:

1. Check into the Transit Hotel by booking a 6-hour block for roughly USD 47 nett. Or more blocks if you need them. You may reserve your room by calling +65 6507 9797.

For this, you don't need to clear customs.

2. An even cheaper option would be to use the rest lounges for transit passengers. They have snoozing berths, shower facilities, beverages, snacks, newspapers, etc - things transit passengers need.

Terminal 1: The Rainforest Lounge
Contact: +65 6541 8518

Terminal 2: The Plaza Premium Lounge
Contact: +65 6545 0388

Terminal 3: Ambassador Transit Lounge
Contact: +65 6507 9798

Note: all the above lounges are in the transit area.

Rate: Roughly USD 22 for 5-hour block

3. In the transit areas of all 3 terminals, you may also use a variety of entertainment / leisure facilities:

a. several gardens (notably Butterfly Garden at Terminal 3)

b. snooze chairs at various locations in the Transit Mall

c. free movies at the transit cinemas

If you are arriving at Terminal 1, you may also use the swimming pool at the Transit Hotel (pool fee: about USD 10, free for hotel guests).

To find the exact locations of these facilities at Singapore Airport, ask the airport service staff once you reach the transit area.

4. Join the free Singapore city tour.

5. Grab a free map at the Visitors' Centre. Then take the free shuttle down to designated spots in the city and explore.

OTHER SINGAPORE TRANSIT FAQs

1) I arrive at the Singapore Budget Terminal. Can I use the Transit Hotel?

Unfortunately, no. The Transit Hotel is in the restricted area of the main terminals.

Here is an exception. If

a) you have an onward flight departing from one of the main terminals, and

b) your airline has a 24-hour check-in service,

you could check-in early and use the Transit Hotel.

2) If I cannot use the Transit Hotel, are there hotels near Singapore Airport which I could use?

The airport has a hotel called the Crowne Plaza Singapore Airport Hotel. There are also hotels near Singapore Airport you could use.
