10 Day Singapore - Malaysia Tour

| Hi Our family ( myself 33, husband 34, and my daughter 5 yrs) are planning a Singapore - Malaysia tour for 10 days i.e arriving on 24th May 10 departure 4th June 10). We want to cover max singapore in 3-4 days as well as Malaysia (Penang, Genting Highlands, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi). Kindly suggest how to travel on economical basis + some good resonable hotels in 1)Singapore 2) Kuala Lumpur 3)Langkawi. Also please suggest sleeper train to save on hotel for 1-2 nights. Again I would like to mention that we have a flight on 4th June morning from Singapore to India. Kindly suggest. Waiting for your response. Regards, Smita |

SCHEDULING AND FOCUS OF SINGAPORE-MALAYSIA TOUR
3-4 days in Singapore sound a comfortable duration to see the main sights.
However, trying to pack Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Penang and Langkawi in 6 days is simply too ambitious. You end up with a lot of travelling and little time to see each place properly.
For something slightly different from Singapore, I recommend that you spend the Malaysian leg of your vacation in Penang and Langkawi.
Your can spend 3 nights in Singapore (24-27 May) and then on the 4th night (27 May) take a night bus from Beach Road in Singapore and arrive in Penang on the morning of Day 5 (28 May).

After that
a) spend 3 nights in Penang,
b) take a ferry ride to Langkawi Island,
c) spend another 2 nights in Langkawi,
d) take an afternoon ferry back to Penang on 2 June,
e) catch the overnight bus back to Singapore on the night of 2 June,
f) and spend the night of 3 June in Singapore.
